I was first introduced to the wonders of Cocchi back in September 2019 and ever since then, my obsession has become relentless. Finally, I made it over to Cocconato, a small town in the Monferrato hills just east of Turin and to the home of this historic Vermouth producer. After a 100 mile cycle across the Po valley from Milan, I was greeted by the owner Roberto Bava and given the full tour and masterclass on their wonderful range of Vermouths. Their range includes Americano Bianco and Rosa (perfect for Spritz), Vermouth di Torino Storico (the greatest sweet vermouth in the world and the perfect component in Negroni), Barolo Chinato and Vermouth di Torino Extra Dry.
