Château La Tuilerie du Puy is a family owned property since 1616 and is established in the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers region, surrounded by the Dropt River.
It was 1979 when the property set to work on becoming a serious modern outfit and one with real ambition. To equip the Château with a modern winery, all with stainless steel tanks and the most modern technology of the century. From this winery will born some strong and elegant wines. Wines with a good ageing potential which, with the years and the numerous medals obtained, contributed to build the name of the Chateau la Tuilerie du Puy Cuvee Tradition 2011 (£12).
The next generation takes up the torch in 1996, with Michaël Regaud : The same passion for wine as his forefathers, the same love of travels, and still this pioneering spirit that characterizes the family. After having vinified wines in California, Michaël brings his international experience to the family estate.
The blend is Cabernet Sauvignon: 30 % Merlot: 60 % Cabernet Franc : 10 % and plot by plot each grape variety is harvested separately before being put into steel tanks for 4 to 6 weeks allowing slow and gentle extraction. Intense nose of violet and blackcurrant. On the palate, tight and fleshy on the fruit. Well-balanced wine seducing by its freshness. This excellent little wine will be on tasting in the Enomatics for the next 2 weeks so come and check it out.
