Canicatti La Ferla Nero d’Avola

For DoddieAid 2024 teams of cyclists from all over the UK propelled themselves across Europe through the bitter March weather to reach Rome ahead of the Scotland v Italy Six Nations match on 9th March.

If you’re planning a visit to the shop any time soon then you might notice something a little strange going on. As cycling enthusiasts you may think that we’re branching out into becoming a bike shop. With a shiny new bike hanging from the ceiling you can be forgiven for thinking such a thing. Instead, we thought it would be fun to run a competition using one of our favourite little wines. Canicatti La Ferla Nero d’Avola was a fairly recent discovery and in just a few months it’s proved incredibly popular so we decided to ship a silly amount over from Sicily in order to make the competition work out. By doing this we’re able to knock 25% off the price of the wine (£10 down to £7.50) and with every purchase of this wine (also the white and Rosé) you will enter a draw to win this Giant Defy 0 2015 Road Bike worth £1000. The wine itself is an absolute gem. Sicily’s is famous for Nero d’Avola and should be proud of this wonderful varietal and hold its head high in the presence of Italy’s many iconic varietals such as Nebbiolo, Sangiovese and Corvina. Smoky, black cherry nose with hints of clove and spice. Creamy and cheerful on the palate with soft tannins and excellent complexity. Ciao e Buona Fortuna
